Teeth whitening or teeth bleaching is a non-invasive dental treatment used to lighten the colour of natural teeth.  Teeth bleaching systems from non-dentist including teeth whitening pen, teeth whitening strip and tooth whitening toothpaste appear to be less effective in achieving desirable results.

Teeth whitening should first be done prior to making new porcelain crowns, porcelain bridges or dentures.  Often, teeth whitening is done at the completion of orthodontic/braces treatment.

At your initial visit, our dentist will examine your teeth to ensure your teeth are suitable for teeth whitening.  Once we establish the suitability of your teeth, several impressions or moulds of your jaws will be taken.  These will be sent away to a laboratory where your customised teeth whitening trays will be made.  Your next visit will be scheduled for the following week.

At your second visit, your teeth whitening trays will be tried in to check for their fit.  Once you are satisfied with the trays, a teeth whitening kit including teeth whitening gel and the trays will be issued to you.

You will be also be given post operative care instructions.  Avoiding highly staining food and drinks,  avoiding smoking, good oral hygiene and  regular dental visits to  your dentist will ensure longevity of your teeth whitening effect.

Zoom Teeth Whitening Traralgon

Zoom Whitening system is a fast and proven teeth whitening method using a teeth whitening enhancing lamp.

The procedure must only be performed by a registered dentist and can be completed in as little as one hour.  At your initial visit, our dentist will examine your teeth to ensure your teeth are suitable for teeth whitening.  Once we establish the suitability of your teeth, our dentist will prepare your teeth and gum for the procedure.  Your teeth will exposed to a teeth whitening gel and your gum will be protected with a barrier to avoid tissue burn. The Zoom light will be used in 3 sessions of 20 minutes each to maximize the effects.
